What are others saying about Meetup?
William Finkel, Outreach Manager for Meetup.com

"Meetup has been very surprised and impressed with the response
that our presidential topics have generated. The fact that well over 200,000 Americans have expressed interest in meeting with their neighbors to plan for an election many months away shows that Americans do care about their government and want to find ways to impact their government locally."

Steve Grossman, former chair of the Democratic National
Committee and former national finance chair of the Dean for
America campaign

"Meetup can be used by the Democrats to level the playingfield --
and truly bring back a commitment to participatory politics in
America. That's the hallmark of the Democratic Party. Adapting
Meetup as an organizational tool of choice addresses our core
strengths and values."

John Hlinko, co-founder of Draft Clark

"Meetup should be considered one component of an overall grassroots engagement strategy. Work hard to not only stage the Meetups, but also create compelling, fun reasons for people to come, and compelling, ‘buzz-worthy’ reasons for the media to cover them. If you build it, they will come.”

Michael Silberman, Howard Dean's National Meetup Director

"Meetup.com and the Internet made it easy for people to find
meetings anywhere, for a campaign or organization to support
these meetings with tools, resources, and information, and for
these groups to connect and collaborate with one another
independent of the central campaign. That Dean Meetups are
continuing forward under the new topic Democracy for America is a testament to the strength of the Meetup movement and to the
political organizations and activity it has created at the grassroots."
